Fusion

FUSION CROSS-LINKING
for Corrugating Starch Adhesives

A patented two-component technology designed to reduce adhesive cost, simplify starch preparation and improve process stability on the corrugator.

Why choose Fusion?

1. REDUCE ADHESIVE COST

Use native starches, reduce or replace carrier starch, and lower overall starch consumption.

2. STABILISE CORRUGATOR PERFORMANCE

Stable viscosity, lower gelling temperature and controlled glue application help support consistent bonding and board quality at production speed.

3. SIMPLIFY THE GLUE KITCHEN

No pre-cooked carrier is required. Fusion integrates into standard starch preparation systems with minimal process changes.

WHAT WE MEASURE DURING A FUSION TRIAL

ADHESIVE COST
Total adhesive cost per 1,000 m² compared with the current formulation.

STARCH CONSUMPTION
Total starch usage and the potential reduction or replacement of carrier starch.

PROCESS STABILITY
Viscosity, gelling temperature and adhesive behaviour during production and after standstill.

CORRUGATOR PERFORMANCE
Glue-film settings, machine speed, bonding quality, warp and relevant board-quality parameters.

DESIGNED FOR INDUSTRIAL IMPLEMENTATION
Built to integrate with existing corrugator adhesive systems

Fusion is designed for implementation within existing starch adhesive preparation systems, without requiring a completely new glue kitchen or adhesive process.

The system uses two liquid components that can be precisely dosed into the adhesive preparation process. Depending on the installation, the components can be supplied directly from IBCs through controlled dosing equipment.

The objective is straightforward: introduce Fusion with minimal disruption, establish a controlled production baseline, and measure its effect on adhesive consumption, process stability and corrugator performance.

Fusion in a nutshell

Stable viscosity
Maintains consistent adhesive viscosity during production and after standstill.

Controlled flow
Shear-thinning behaviour supports smooth application and rapid viscosity recovery.

Lower gelling temperature
Supports faster starch activation and efficient bonding.

Simpler glue preparation
Eliminates the need for a pre-cooked starch carrier.

Lower glue-film settings
Designed to support controlled application with reduced glue-film thickness.

Cleaner application
Short adhesive structure helps reduce splashing at the corrugator.

Native starch compatible
Designed to work effectively with native, unmodified starches.

Flexible integration
Can be introduced into existing starch adhesive systems with limited process changes.

One Bag Mix compatible
Can also be used in suitable One Bag Mix systems.

Industrial trial ready
Performance can be measured directly against the plant’s existing adhesive formulation.
